On a recent luxury home tour of an Old World Mediterranean residence, these items were mentioned. You could use this as a checklist of materials and features for your own villa.

 

  • Colletti Wrought iron 2” fully welded steel entry doors with kiln casted glass panels and solid iron knobs

  • Chiseled-edge travertine flooring
  • Massive wood beams
  • Wide wood cased sliding doors
  • Exterior cantera stone gas fireplace

  • Subzero refrigerator, freezer and wine chiller
  • Warming drawer
  • Under cabinet kick lighting
  • Two dishwashers

No, but very easy to live with a timeless. There are many options for making it more unique but this is very typical of the luxury home market and a reference point for getting started. This is for old world to transitional interiors. Contemporary materials would vary from these.

Love to read in bed? The typical height for a swing arm lamp is 42” from the bottom of the shade to the floor. Both Christopher Norman and Hinson-Hansen have good choices. Adding dimmers is advisable.

Update a Hallway
