The genius and pleasure of tablescapes is that they don’t have to be elaborate or expensive. Since they are often holiday or event oriented, the pieces are used only once or twice a year for a short period. You don’t tire of them like the pink tile in the bathroom. Gather your favorite Easter keepsakes and assemble for a personal tabletop! Add candles or twinkle lights. Use the holiday plates and napkin holders. Include holiday candies. Dessert can be served on another set of heirloom plates to truly bask in family traditions!
Safety Tips
For safety, use:
- Hard-wired smoke alarms with battery back up.
- Grounded outlets near water ie kitchen, bath and exterior.
- Anti-scald valves (pressure balance).
- Tempered glass for windows near stairs, doors and in baths.

Ceiling fans (Casablanca, Hunter) like air registers and garage doors (Lodi and Bullfrog) may not need to be the focal point.

Lighting Placement
A guide for a dining room chandelier is to hang it 60-66″ from the floor. Bathroom sconces are typically 66″ from the finished floor. If you have a console table in your design, add the outlet 28″ high from the finished floor to eliminate cords showing. Light switches placed 1-1/2″ – 2″ from the door casing won’t interfere with art.
